Despatch will be on the first available scheduled flight with delivery to destination within 3 hours of flight arrival.

Within the same major city limits
Delivery will be take place within 3 hours from collection.

For areas out of major centres, special arrangements will need to be made with your local DPE office

PRIORITY DELIVERIES
An overnight express service, between or within major centres, for delivery the following working day by 09h00.

OVERNIGHT EXPRESS SERVICE
An overnight express service, between or within major centres, for delivery the following working day by 11h00.

REMOTE/OUTLYING AREAS
To destinations other than major centres. Delivery is achieved within 1 to 3 working days, depending on final destination.
Certain areas are serviced on an ad hoc basis. Confirmation of delivery times are to be confirmed upon booking of collection.

DOMESTIC AIR FREIGHT
A cost effective service for the larger / heavier, not so urgent consignments.
Delivery is achieved within 24 to 48 hours, depending on final destination.

DOMESTIC ECONOMY ROAD FREIGHT
A more cost effective service, for the larger / heavier, less time sensitive consignments.
Delivery is achieved within 48 to 72 hours, depending on final destination.

EMBASSY / CONSULATE SERVICE
This service provides a delivery and collection to and from Embassy / Consulates.

AFTER HOURS SERVICES
Delivery or collection after normal business hours, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Prior arrangements must be made and confirmed.

EXPRESS DOCUMENTS
A reliable door to door express courier service for time sensitive documents which do not require commercial invoices for value declaration.
No single piece can weigh more than 30.0 kgs.

EXPRESS NON DOCUMENTS
A reliable door to door express courier service for time sensitive non document consignments. These shipments will require certain customs documentation based on their value, commodity and destination.
Please see under “ General information” for required paperwork. No single piece can weigh more than 30kgs.

EXPRESS IMPORTS
This is an inbound door to door service for documents and non documents from other international destinations. DPE will arrange these collections. No single piece can weigh more than 30kgs.

INTERNATIONAL MAIL
An international postal service for clients who have bulk mail.

INTERNATIONAL AIRFREIGHT
A cost effective service for the larger / heavier, non time sensitive consignments, either door to door, or door to airport, depending on final destination. Subject to quotation.

CROSS BORDER ROAD FREIGHT
A cost effective mode of transport for the larger / heavier, non time sensitive consignments.

CLEARING, WAREHOUSING, PICK AND PACK DISTRIBUTION
DPE will clear your goods, warehouse them securely, pick and pack for you, and do your distribution.

Not only will you pay only for the space used, saving you expensive warehousing costs, but your labour costs are also substantially reduced!.

Warehousing, pick and pack and distribution is handled through our network, giving you total controlled coverage both internationally and within South Africa. All under one roof!

DOCUMENTS
Are defined as unbound printed paper, ie. letters, reports, proposals, or similar paper based articles, but excludes magazines, brochures, photographs, etc.

NON DOCUMENTS
Are defined as anything other than documents, ie: documents with photographs, magazines, x-rays, brochures, advertising material, samples, videos, spares, etc. These consignments will require customs documentation and are subject to customs formalities. An additional transit time
of 1 - 2 days may apply due to customs clearance procedures at destination.

PRO FORMA INVOICE/CUSTOMS DECLARATION FORM
Required for international shipments that are not being sold, usually for samples or gifts. The Pro forma invoice/Customs Declaration form must state the description, and show a customs value for clearing purposes.
If used for personal effects, a full inventory of the contents must accompany the Pro Forma invoice.

COMMERCIAL INVOICE
Required for international export shipments that are being sold. The Commercial invoice must state the full description and value of the goods.

TAX INVOICE
Required for international cross border shipments that are being sold, and the final destination is:- Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland. The Tax invoice must state the full description and value of the goods.
In addition, it must show the shipper and consignee’s VAT registration number and the VAT value.

TEMPORARY EXPORTS
DPE must be advised of any goods that are being exported temporarily, and will subsequently be returned to South Africa, ie: goods being sent out of the country for repair or for demonstration purposes, and will be returned.
If DPE is notified prior to export, so that the necessary documentation can be completed, the goods will not attract customs duty and VAT when it is re-imported. A surcharge will be applicable for this service.

DPE provide a door to door courier service for all time sensitive consignments. All consignments must be handed over to DPE under cover of a signed air waybill. These will be supplied to you, pre-printed, to reflect your company details and account number.

WEIGHT CALCULATIONS
Volumetric or actual – whichever is greater. Consignments are rounded up to the nearest half kilogram or kilogram, depending on the service selected.
For air, volumetric calculations are in cm: Length X Breadth X Height (cm) divided by 5000.
For road, volumetric calculations are in cm: Length X Breadth X Height (cm) divided by 4000.

DANGEROUS GOODS
It is the responsibility of the shipper of the goods to ensure that the goods are not dangerous or hazardous for carriage by air. There are various IATA regulations for international and domestics governing the transport of dangerous goods and you are urged to ensure that your dispatch staff are aware, and adhere to these regulations.

Should there be any doubt as to whether your shipment will be classified as dangerous or hazardous, or is a restricted article, please contact your local DPE office for advice. Any goods classified as dangerous or hazardous for carriage by air must be brought to DPE’s attention.

Should you require the IATA approved packaging, DPE will gladly assist.
Rates for dangerous / hazardous goods will be quoted separately.

RESTRICTIONS
Certain items are prohibited and will not be accepted as courier material: animals, plants, foodstuffs, perishables, dry ice, gambling devices, firearms or weaponry, identity books, passports, negotiable documents (cash, coins, travellers cheques, bonds, currency, drafts, etc), valuables (jewellery, diamonds, gold, etc).

Additional commodities may be applicable to certain international destinations. If in doubt, please contact your local DPE office.

SPECIAL HANDLING
Should you have any special handling or instructions regarding any shipment, ie: fragile, extremely time sensitive, etc, please advise your local DPE office and confirm special requirements prior to collection, so that we can accommodate your request.
